Hi

Is there anyone out there who has records or passenger lists for ships
which sailed to South Africa. The passenger lists for the British
Settlers who arrived in 1820 are well documented however I am looking
for information cir 1855 - 1862. Unfortunately I have no ship's name or
even firm arrival date so I realise that this query is a long shot.

I am trying to find out when a John EDY arrived in South Africa (he was
born in Neath, Wales) and was a clerk. He did not come out to South
Africa on an assisted package so I think that I have to look for
"scheduled" vessels. I am also trying to find out if he was already
married when he arrived (wife was Johanna DAVIES). John & Johanna's
first child was born in Port Elizabeth in 1862.

Any help in regard to the above will be appreciated.
