The London Times of Sept 19, 1853 lists the arrival of a ship by this
name in Calcutta:

...the ship Oneco, from Port Phillip, June 11;...

In the April 24, 1855 Times is this:

Liverpool, April 23.
Wind, N.N.W.
The Oneco, from Savannah for this port, has arrived at Boston, leaky.

On Tuesday, March 25, 1856 is this:

Liverpool, March 25.
Wind, S.
The Oneco, hence, for Calcutta, was abandoned, Dec 1, off St. Paul's
Island; crew taken off by the James allen (whaler), of New Bedford,
and landed at Fremantle, Dec. 21.

I then tried the NY Times and on Nov 8, 1851 it reported:

NORFOLK, Nov. 7--...brig Oneco, fm. Boston for Baltimore, is also in
Hampton Roads.

On March 10, 1852 it reported under Foreign Ports that the Oneco,
from Boston, was at Sagna La Grande,Feb 29.

On Aug 19, 1852 the NY Times reported under Spoken &c.:

Aug. 18, lat. 39 30, lon. 69, ship Oneco, from Calcutta for Boston,
130 days out.

On June 6, 1853 is this:

The brig Onceco, arrived at Baltimore, from New-Orleans, consigned to
Capron & Gwyn, had on board a block of marble, the contribution of
the State of Iowa to the Washington National Monument.

This leads me to believe we are talking about two different vessels
-- one a brig and one a ship. Aug 23, 1853 there is also a report of
a fishing schr. by this name. On Feb 24, 1854 is this:

At St. John's, Porto Rico, brig Oneco, (of Portland,) for Baltimore in 15 days;

On May 26, 1854 the Oneco was at Trinidad de Cuba on May 8 and
reported to have sailed for Baltimore. This is the last mention of her.

Regards.. Marj
