| [TSL] Ireland to Charleston - 1801 - Ship Sally | | |

Trying to locate the passenger list from the 'good ship Sallie'.
(More likely spelled Sally.)
According to notes from a 1915 family reunion, the ship first
sailed from Belfast in the fall of 1800. After passing thru the
Irish Sea, the ship sprang a leak and returned to the harbor
of Cork for repairs.
They set sail again in the early part of 1801 in the same ship,
and reached Charleston, SC in May of that year.
Passengers hopefully included Patrick McGowan, his wife
and 13 year old son William and 3 daughters; Andrew E.
McWilliams with his wife Sarah Anne McGowan and a batchelor
brother named Henry (not sure if McGowan or McWilliams);
Janie (Jeannie) McWilliams - probably around 13 years old.
The McGowans and McWilliams originally settled in the
Cane Creek area near Cross Hill. Laurens County, SC
Andrew E. and Sarah Anne McGowan McWilliams are my
gg grandparents.
Would appreciate any info.
Thanks,
Janet
