Hi Pat!

There are many published records of ship passenger lists, not all are listed
by ship name - but are indexed by passenger name. There are many folks on
the list who have some of these published books, etc and will do a lookup for
you - which will give you the name of the ship.

In order to get a lookup though - you need to post the full name of your
emigrant ancestor, birthdate, age at time of emigration, spouse, or other
family members travelling with him, country of origin, port of entry and of
course year of emigration. Now - if you are unsure of any of this imfo, just
provide as clsoe as estimate as possible, based on the facts that you do
have.

And PLEASE - in the subject line put something like:
Lookup Liverpool>NY 1825

If you already know the name of the ship - then put the name of the ship
in the Subject Line and the info you are seeking in the body of the
message.

The publications, books, etc usually are very specific to country and years.
Most of the folks doing lookups only scan the Subject Lines - so it is to
your benefit to use a Subject Line that will catch their attention.

DO NOT put the surname in the Subject Line - It should only appear in the
body of the message and use caps for the surname only.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting!

Sharon
