Not exactly. US citizen women did not lose their citizenship by marriage to
an alien until the law changed in 1907. After the 1907 law, all US citizen
women who married aliens lost their US citizenship (presumably gaining the
citizenship of their husbands). Prior to 1907, from 1855-1907, US citizen
women only lost their US citizenship if they married an alien husband AND LEFT
THE US TO LIVE WITH HIM IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. So, in the example originally
posted, not only did the marriage occur prior to 1907, the couple also
remained in the US. Thus the woman did not lose her US citizenship.
