Hi All,

Through the list, I have the microfilm references for the Mauretania for
the years 1910-11 when my grt grandfather (Harold Townsend) came to
Canada as an endentured farmhand (in Portage la Praire, Manitoba for 1
year). Does anyone know if there was a "usual time of year" that these
men were brought over? The Maurentania made LOTS of trips and I was
hoping to start with "the most likely season" in hopes of making a lucky
hit in the first few films... rather than the last film :-)

My ideas include March... in time for planting;
or maybe August... in time for harvest;
but does anyone know if there was what could be called an "established
norm" for this type of immigration?

Thanks in advance,
