You need Ships Passenger Lists to Galveston as Canada 
didn't keep its outbound lists

Sadly there are very few surviving before 1894 but have a 
look at this page and see what's available and where to 
find it. There are some that survived for 1892 and 1893 so 
cross your fingers that 1892 is correct!

Even better would be to get his naturalization papers and 
see if there is more detail on them - like a ship name
