[TSL] Irish to Canada to U.S.

A message concerning Irish orphans shipped to Canada jogged my memory.

One of the stories about my Irish ancestors was that the ships they travelled
on from Ireland landed in Canada; then they travelled to Dayton, Ohio from
Canada through Michigan?

Is anyone familiar with this and/or have any information on how I could
research this type of route?

My Irish were Michael Egan from Tipperary (we think) and the Connelys and
Henneberrys from Kilkenny (we think).
