Hi all,
I have just received a record from Australia detailing a newspaper clipping,
from the Tumut and Adelong Times possibly:
"William Sutton born Parish Daglen County Essex, London. Sailed on the ship
Ebray 1847 arrived 1852."
I think the Daglen should read Dagenham, Essex which is where I have a
William Sutton born abt.1831 but I can't seem to find a ship called Ebray. And
surely the journey from 1847 to 1852 seems rather long? I know the Suttons
settled in Tumut, NSW.
Anyone got any thoughts on this please?
Many thanks,
Diana
