Subject: [TSL] MATOAKA

I have a Thomas Costello B Jan 1836 ?Downham Eng.
Arrived Aust 1857 MATOAKA. Any information on this voyage
would be greatly appreciated.
 Hi Chris

Have a look in the on line Sydney Morning Herald ..
http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home . This ship
arrived Sydney 23 Jan 1857
Do an advanced search perhaps try selecting from say 15 Jan
to 15 Feb and narrow the search if you have to

Have you checked out State Records film # 2471 ?? . This
should give you when and where born, names of parents ,
whether literate or not , occupation
etc
State Records recently digitised a lot of early passenger
lists

http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/guides-and-finding-aids/nrs-lists/nrs-5316
Names of the ships come up at the bottom of the page

These records dont give quite as much info . If you havent
checked film #2471, both Tuggarah , Gosford and the CC FHS
libraries would all have this film

With mailing lists we tend to stick with communicating by
email . By all means give clue to you location but theres
is no need at all to give your address and phone number .
