How wonderful to have such a Diary ... I checked the Baltimore arrivals and 
on Steve Morse's site I saw this ...

I looked at the manifest on Ancestry.com and it actually looks to be 
spelled PIETER FLORISZ ... T.A. Begeman Sielzes was the Master.   They 
filed the manifest on June 12th 1847.  I think that are on the last page 
(of eight) with husband / father listed simply as  L. Michael and mother 
and children as Verbeek / Verbeck

I was looking for confirmation of when they sailed from Amsterdam ... I'm 
sure your Diary is the best source for that.  In places the list is lovely, 
other places very damaged ... on the summary (of a sort) they refer to the 
vessel as the Ship Florisz in the front page they refer to "Ship Pieter 
Florisz," but they neglected to include "burthen ____" (tonnage) ... it 
carried 280 passengers.  it only appeared to have made that one Baltimore 
arrival so I can't check other manifests for additional details.  There 
does appear to be an additional voyage to New York in July 1849 "Ship 
Pieter Floris" (no z) but is had almost no information

This is the best I can do about the vessel, that it seems that it was 
ship-rigged, so looks like the diagram at the above link.

I googled and learned that Pieter Florisz was a Dutch Admiral who died in 
battle 1658

You shold try googling with quotes with various spellings ... I think there 
is more out there to learn about the voyage.
