My ADEL ancestors arrived in NY about 1844-46, their first daughter born
1846. Their names were George and Catherine (Katrina ) Rose. The were both
born in Germany 1819 and 1825. George's Naturalization papers from NY show
that he was from Hesse-Kassel and it is believed that he was a shoemaker by
trade. Catherine's birthplachas been listed as "Prussia".
George and Catherine had a daughter Louisa, born 1846, sons George (my g-
g) born in 1852, then August 54, Henry, 56, Elizabeth 57, Edward 59 and
Catherine (Katie) in 1860. The last four born in Springfield, MA.
They are a very tough family to trace, but if anyone has any info. on
ships or arrivals, I'd be so grateful!!
