Sue - YOU ARE THE BEST!

I had a feeling that I had the wrong film. I went to look at it last night
at LDS.

I tried the LDS site and had the same experience you had - could only get a
partial listing of the film.

I will now reorder through LDS since ILL doesn't seem to be working for me.

Thanks again.

I have obtained the ship manifest from NARA for my grandfather, Josef
Csanad, on the Zeeland from Rotterdam to Portland. I am trying to obtain
his manifest into Canada - from the US.

I requested film #T-4691 - Passenger Lists: Eastern US Ports 1905-1921 -
from the Canadian National Archives through ILL. I am still waiting to
receive it (2 months later).

Does anyone know if the LDS Film #2308024 (with a notation of NAC T-4783) is
the corresponding film? The dates of arrival on the LDS film is 21 Oct 1911
to 2 May 1912, whereas the Canadian Film is listed at 26 Nov 199 to 9 Apr
1912.

Thanks for any help on this matter.

Hi Debi,

No, T-4783 is port of Quebec arrival microfilm 1911 Oct. 21 to 1912 May
2. The film you need is NAC (now called LAC. . Library & Archives of
Canada) microfilm T-4691 1911 Nov. 26 to 1912 April 9

I went to the LDS website and it said 460 microfilms for 'Ships' passenger
lists for Canada', but only showed me 150 !! The search box at the bottom
says "Get film notes from number:" so I picked a record number of 450 . .
and bingo !

Eastern United States Ports: 26 Nov. 1911 (Ascania cont.) - 9 April 1912
(Megantic) (NAC no. T-4691) FHL US/CAN Film 2308214

btw. I am surprised that the ILL from the is taking so long. They used to
take an age, but then the whole thing was streamlined . . I get films in
about a week . .maybe 10 days. Could be the marriage between the Library
and the Archives has slowed things down . . I hope not! They are in the
same building in Ottawa, but each had had their own system.

Sue
